Re: Idea Windows based Tablets and Convertibles Shipping Thread

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet... (Sorry, did not read through the whole thread.)

fyi: You can use nowinstock.net to alert you to when products come in stock and see the history of when it was in and out of stock.  For example, here is the Y2P at Best Buy.

http://www.nowinstock.net/computers/ultrabooks/lenovo/

I've used nowinstock several times in the past couple years.  It works pretty good.  The Y2P i7 / 8GB /256GB SSD model was out of stock at Best Buy when I went to order it so I used this service to alert me to when it was in stock again.  It worked out great.  I was able to order on Monday and it will be here this weekend.

Hopefully it will come in handy for some of you too...

TL;DR Don't believe anything Lenovo sales says about cancelling an order. Ever.

So to those of you trying to cancel a Lenovo order (got mine from Best Buy a while ago), the Lenovo sales team is completely ineffective in all regards. I made at least 10 calls to them over the past 2 weeks and none of them made a difference. They weren't able to get manufacturing to stop my order with over 11 days notice and multiple calls. When it did ship, they said they'd be able to reroute the package so that it wouldn't come to me. I called on the day that it shipped, and checked again today (4 days later) and nothing had happened. The guy put in a second request to reroute the package and then said that the original rerouting request had made it through today, but the tracking didn't change at all.

I finally called UPS and in 10 minutes I was able to request that the package be returned to sender. It showed up in tracking immediately. In the meantime I have a $1300 charge on my credit card, which won't be refunded until the Lenovo sales team gets the package back. At this rate I'm going to have to call AMEX to get the charge removed.

Re: Idea Windows based Tablets and Convertibles Shipping Thread

Ordered the Yoga 2 on November 3rd,. Lenovo said it would be shipped the 18th, but after checking Lenovo order status, it was delayed (after looking at this forum, a common occurance -_-).

Now it says it will ship the 15th and arrive the 20th...

Can anyone here give me a % (hypothetically) chance of it arriving by the 20th?..Is lenovo just putting the 20th to quell the fears of christmass shoppers?

I need this laptop, am taking computer science courses and my old dell is groaning more everytime i get a new assignment. :(

Should I just cancel Lenovo order and get it from Best Buy? (Dunno if its worth dealing with lenovo customer service to cancel, read through some of the post including the one above this one, questioned myself.)

I'm guessing you mean December 20th?

I can't give you a percentage, but it seems like this thread has quieted down a lot. I assume that people who have been waiting for their orders for a while have started to get them. Some people have also reported reasonable turnarounds from order to delivery. It probably depends a lot on which configuration you choose. This thread used to be filled with a lot of mid October orders which hadn't been fullfilled.

That said, the order page (notoriously inaccurate) still says 4 weeks to ship for new orders. So it's hard to say...

Yeah, very strange . . as I'd mentioned a few posts back, ordered a y2p clementine orange i5/8/256 last Monday, arrived last Thursday, so certain configurations are certainly shipping out very quickly. Very happy with it so far.

As I mentioned, I ordered the exact same configuration as you ,before you i believe, and mine isn't coming until Jan 8th according to the order details. So it's not consistent at all. Glad you got yours and that you like it.
