Re: Idea Windows based Tablets and Convertibles Shipping Thread

Yes this thread had quieted down because it 's a "shipping" thread, and we were all so upset with the shipping, or lack of it.  I have finally received my Y2P orange i7, which suffered many delays, and it sounds like others have received theirs in a variety of configurations.  It doesn't seem there is any way to predict the why's or when's of it, but things appear to be catching up.

People can migrate to another Lenovo users' forum, or to: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread.html, where I've found some interesting information.

Well, demand must be really high, because prices just jumped on the Canadian website.  The i5/8/256 system I ordered, is no longer available.  For the same price you now get i5/4/256 instead.   The thing that concerns me is that nowhere in my order does it list the system specs, only a part number that is no longer listed on the web site.  So I have no way of verifying that I'm getting what I originally ordered.

They go by part number. if you ordered a i5/8/256 it has a different part number then at i5/4/128.

You should get what you ordered unless they cancel the order, which nobody has had happen. In fact if you try to cancel it still might show up. So i wouldnt worry about it. :)

As I mentioned, I ordered the exact same configuration as you ,before you i believe, and mine isn't coming until Jan 8th according to the order details. So it's not consistent at all. Glad you got yours and that you like it.

I ordered the same config from Lenovo Canada (last week) and my ship date is also 01/08.

My ship date just changed to 2015/01/01 :smileysurprised:

Does anybody know what the actual problem is with the shipping delays? How come lenovo releases a system and then claims that the parts are not available, that seems like a really lame excuse. I ordered mine on 11/10 and the status says that it will ship on 12/26, that is a really unreasonable time of delivery for a system that is pre-configured.

I kind of agree.  I ordered mine towards the middle-end of October.  It won't ship till 12/15.  I don't know how I have been so patient thus far.  Maybe just looking forward to it has been keeping me sane.

Yes, it's a long wait and frustrating experience.  For what it's worth, I'm extremely happy with mine, after a very long wait also.  I have had NO problems with it (no weird colors or WIFI issues), and would rather have had the long wait than beeen one of the earlier adopters and had some of the prevalent problems they had.  I would find that much more frustating.  It's a lot of money to me, and I expect everything to work out of the box - no practice models for me.  If the longer wait means Lenovo is fine tuning things, it is well worth it, I think.  Once you finally get it, you'll love it.

I talked to a Lenovo rep yesterday and he said that there's a 30 day lead time once your order has been 'Released to Manufacturing'. He coudn't explain the 2015/01/01 ship date on my order (many people are having the same issue) but he said it's obviously a bogus date. He tracked my order and told me to expect a "real" ship date of Dec 22/23rd and an arrival date at the beginning of January.

I agree that it is worth the wait if they are fixing bugs. But they are so secretive, I would've completely understood that the delay was because they were fixing previous 1st gen bugs. Why not just say so???

I ordered Y2P on 11/25 for the orange/i7/8gb/256gb w/ est delivery 2014/1/13. If anyone have any luck on getting it sooner, please let me know. I might have to cancel this order if taking too long :(
