2021-04-06, 16:40 PM

Hello.
I´ve got a Second Hand Flex 5 these Days, quite cheap, but did not saw its without a Keyboard Backlight 😒

Using the Convertible quite a lot at night not only as Tablet i am going to miss the Backlight 😎

I would like to know if its possible to change the Keyboard somehow with a Backlight Keyboard?

And if... will it work?

Hello bogus_247,

Greetings.

Let's try to check for the backlight keyboard functionality first. To start, you may need to specify the machine type model of the unit that you got. Please share the machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK) from the sticker as it would help us detail more about your machine variant.

This contains more than 4 characters.

Let us know when convenient.

Regards.

Hi bogus_247,

Thank you for responding with the necessary information.

You may need to check if your machine is backlight capable at least. According to the user manual (page 17) of your unit, you need to check if your spacebar key has a light icon on it. To enable the backlight, press and hold the Fn (function key) and tap on the spacebar key.

Regards.

Helllo @Dex_Lenovo

I'm not sure you got me right?!  I already know that my pad has no keyboard lighting (No Sign on the Keyboard), so I wanted to know if it is possible to replace the keyboard with a keyboard with lighting, i.e. with the light icon on the keyboard and whether it will work with the lighting with my Pad (Hardware)? 😊

Hi bogus_247,

Apologies for the reply.

The backlight keyboard feature of a Lenovo machine depends if this feature is offered specifically/exclusively on a model or unit. If yours does not have a backlight feature or not backlight keyboard capable, then changing the physical keyboard would not be an effective method to attain this feature.
