IdeaPad Flex 5 14ARE05 Plugged in and stuck at 95%

2020-09-01, 4:51 AM

Hello,

I just bought my new IdeaPad Flex 5 14ARE05. I am already having two issues with it. i will be writing another post with the second issue. But I've only seen my new laptop charge to 100 after i got it home. After that, it seems to be stuck at 97% or today it was 95% and it's plugged in and charging. How do I fix this?

Hi,

Welcome to the Lenovo forum community!

Please try the following:

Disconnect the charger from the laptop, and the wall.

Make sure the laptop is powered off, then press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.

Reconnect the charger to the laptop, then the wall.

Now try to start your computer.

Hello,

I did what you suggested, and it's still at 95%. Is there another solution?

Hmm, could you try the following:

i will suggest resetting the BIOS settings, which can be done the following way, , you need to push the tiny button located (Go Here search with your serial number, then select pane "Knowledgebase and Guides" Then find the user manual and locate the Novo buttons placement in the manual),

You can use, for example a paperclip to press it, after you have pressed the button, the laptop will power on, and present a small

menu, use the arrow keys to select BIOS Setup, and press the enter key to select.

Now use the arrow key right to go to the tab called "Exit" then use arrow down key to highlight "Load Default Settings", then press

enter, and then use arow key up to highlight "Exit Saving Changes", press enter, then press enter again to aknowledge saving, now go back into the BIOS Setup, then let the laptop drain the battery completely, connect the charger, let it charge, then turn on the laptop, and see if there is any difference.

sometimes the meassuring system is a little off and need a few fully drain, charge cycles.

Hello,

I am very confused with your instructions. First off, you didn't provide a link as to where I should go to. Second, the website already detected my laptop. I did go into "Knowledge Base" but I got confused after that. What did you want me to click on next. Or did I do something wrong?

ahh sorry, the link was supposed to be pcsupport.lenovo.com

inside the knowledgebase, find the user manual, then find the location of the Novo button, which is outlined in the manual.

as per my limited knowledge, i do not think that there are some issues with your BIOS or power cord or charger.

afaik, this happens due to activated power plan in windows 10 usually. change the power plan from balanced mode to ultimate mode and share the results.

Hello,

I don't have ultimate on mine. I just have power saver. But my battery is still stuck on 95%. So that didn't work.

Hello,

I found out where the Novo button is. What do I do now? Do I have to find something to press it?

its because of power saver mode, i read somewhere it is to increase your battery health for longevity. any way, before doing the following steps, be ensure that you have other power mode activated or not as marked in the picture.

if you do not have any other power plans, follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press win+x

2. select Windows PowerShell (both will do, normal or Admin)

3. copy the following and paste over there and enter

powercfg -duplicatescheme 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c

4. go to settings > systems > Power and Sleep > Additional power settings

5. Select High Performance mode

6. Restart and share the results.

best/
