2021-09-15, 1:54 AM

Translation from Google

The touchpad is enabled in tablet mode

Touchpad disabled in laptop mode

The keyboard works in the same way

The behavior is exactly the opposite.

Please tell me the solution.

Welcome to the Community Forums @よび

Here are some steps that you can do for your machine.

I'm guessing if you have problem with your touchpad, these are some steps you can try to enable it.

The basics of a touchpad troubleshooting
- Press Fn+F6 or F6 (some machine's could have this on the F7 key) to enable or disable touchpad as sometimes these keys are accidentally tapped.
- Determine if Tablet mode is currently ON. Touchpad will not work if tablet mode is enabled. One can easily identify if machine is on tablet mode, tiles and start menu is occupying the whole computer screen.
- Check if the touchpad is disabled and if it's still visible in the system tray. (Use an external mouse or if machine is touchscreen capable).
- If touchpad icon is still visible and it has a red X on it. Right click on the icon and select Properties.
- Enable the touchpad and check if issue is resolved.

Initiate a static drain or power drain: make sure that the device is properly shutdown or in a powered-off state and has remaining battery power.

Start to disconnect all the cables and/or peripheral devices connected to the machine (ex. power cable, hdmi cable, external mouse/keyboard, flashdrives, etc). Feel free to leave the ac adapter connected to the charging port but be sure to disconnect the ac adapter plug from the power outlet/socket.

Begin to press and hold down the power button for as long as 60 seconds to drain flea power or excess voltage. The machine is meant to remain turned off during and after holding power key.

Power it up again through the power button, once light indicators flashed from the machine, rapidly tap on the F1 or F2 key multiple times until it boots directly on the BIOS Set Up Utility.

Reload the BIOS to defaults
- Inside the BIOS Set Up, navigate to the Exit Menu.
- Select Load Setup Default - click Enter, select YES and click Enter.
- Select Exit and Save Changes then click Enter, select YES and click Enter.
- Laptop should boot back to Windows.

Test your touchpad.

I'm guessing that if you mean that the keyboard keys are "not working", here are some steps you can try.

For keyboard having issue typing or if some keys that are not working, follow the troubleshooting steps instructed here. https://support.lenovo.com/ph/en/solutions/ht103985-keyboard-keys-may-not-work

Test the keyboard again by connecting an external USB keyboard. Observe/test if the non-working keys on built in keyboard would operate well on the external keyboard.

When done with external keyboard, test the on-screen keyboard feature as well. Access the Settings from Start button > Ease of Access > Keyboard. Similarly, check the non-operational keys from build in keyboard if these would work on the on-screen  keyboard access.

Lastly, launch the command prompt / CMD and test the built-in keyboard/faulty keys by typing in the command lines. If the on-screen keys work along with the external keyboard, yet built-in keys failed to operate in the CMD lines, it can be a hardware issue.

I might suggest that you share the machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK or 20UD000BUS) from the sticker usually located under the case. This would help us detail more about your machine variant while keeping the confidentiality of your serial number.

Hope this helps.
