IdeaPad L340 - 15IRH : Touchpad device settings missing

2019-08-20, 11:49 AM

I would like to adjust trackpad behaviour but I don't have the Synaptics device settings tab in the mouse properties dialog. There should be a Device Settings tab for the Synaptics trackpad to the right of the hardware tab.

I checked if I have the touchpad icon in the system tray and it isn't there.

I downloaded and installed the latest driver from the Lenovo site, but still no luck. Running windows 10 v.1903

Screenshot of the device manager -> driver properties attached.

Thank you

A ton of Lenovo devices don't have these specific settings menus, my Yoga 530 also doesn't. There also isn't a way to install the interface for these devices, so you are out of luck, unfortunately.

The problem with the touchpad as it is is that is completely useless since it stops moving the cursor as soon as you put the 2nd finger in it due to the multi-touch configuration that I'm assuming is default.

I also had a problem with lack of a Synaptics control panel. You have to install the latest touchpad drivers from the Lenovo website here and install them. Then go to C: -> Drivers -> TouchpadDriver -> Synaptics -> Source and right-click the SynLenovoLBGDApp. Go to Digital signature/certifications and click the name of the certificate. Then choose Details, then Show certificate, then Install certificate, then Local device. Choose Next and "Place all certificates in selected storage" and choose Browse. Then scroll until you find "Trusted persons", Ok and Next until you have installed the certificate. After you have installed the cert. then open the SynLenovoLBGD app and install it. This will show you the Synaptics control panel.

I am trying to follow your suggestion for installing the Synaptics control panel.  I made it as far as right-clicking on the SynLenovoLBGDApp..  When I did that, there was no option to go to "Digital signature/certifications".  Can you provide a work-around? I can't seem to find any reference to "certificates". THANK YOU!
