Welcome to the forum.

This model has one DDR4 SO-DIMM socket. You can add one 4GB, 8GB or 16GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM module.

Could I run 16GB 3200 and still be able to use the system at 3200?

The memory bus runs at 2666MHz so while using 3200MHz RAM will work, it will still run at only 2666MHz.

Thank you. In addition, I have found conflicting information online about how much memory my laptop can support. Some sources say it is 20gb while others say it is 12gb total memory. I have the s340-15iil model 81VW with the i7-1065G7.

According to Lenovo in PSREF IdeaPad ideapad S340-15IIL "12GB max / 2666MHz DDR4, dual-channel capable, 4GB memory soldered to systemboard, one DDR4 SO-DIMM socket."

According to Crucial in Ideapad S340-15IIL Compatible upgrades "Maximum memory: 20GB." That would be 4GB soldered plus 16GB in the socket.

This isn't an unusual situation. Lenovo tends to be very conservative and sometimes doesn't test with more RAM than they offer on the configurations they sell. Crucial tests with their maximum and stands behind their claims. If you're concerned about whether 16GB will work then buy from a seller who offers return privileges like Crucial or name brands on Amazon, etc.
