Ideapad 151SK Windows 10 64-bit Intel HD Graphics 520 driver installation error

The IdeaPad 151SK our small nonprofit uses for presentations at public meetings had been sitting in storage for a couple of years due to COVID restrictions.  It had been working fine for this purpose before.  I retrieved it the other day to get it updated and working for use in possible upcoming hybrid in-person/online events.  After hours of downloading and installing the backlog of Windows 10 updates, a BIOS update, and multiple restarts, I tried to connect the computer to the digital projector at our meeting venue using an HDMI cable that worked fine with a different computer and got a "no signal" error message on the projector.  When I brought the laptop home and tried to connect it to an external monitor using the F10 key to access Project, I got a message saying "Your computer cannot project to another screen.  Try reinstalling the driver or using a different video card."

When I open Device Manager, I see a little yellow triangle with an exclamation point on the icon for the Intel HD Graphics 520 display adapter.  Opening Device Properties/General, I see "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".  Driver tab shows version 23.20.16.4973.  When I click on update driver and choose search automatically, it tells me I have the latest available driver.  Details tab/Problem Code shows 0000002B.  Events tab description for most recent event (2/3/2022 Device Install Requested) shows "Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1916&SUBSYS_382C17AA&REV_07\3&11583659&0&10 requires further installation."

Windows support says I should download the latest driver from the computer manufacturer's website and install it.  When I go on Lenovo support, download the Service Bridge software to auto-detect the model and serial number, and select the automatic driver update option, the scan indicates that "No driver updates are required for your machine." Similarly, no driver download for the graphics adapter appears to be available using the Manual Update option.

Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Sorry, I was mistaken about the event description I provided in my original post being the most recent. The latest one, which was timestamped about 7 minutes later for Driver Service Added (igfxCUIService2.0.0.0), says "Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service igfxCUIService2.0.0.0 for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1916&SUBSYS_382C17AA&REV_07\3&11583659&0&10 with the following status: 0."

Do you mean the 110-151SK laptop or a different model?

I can also report that I just tried to fix this by uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. When I restarted the computer, the Intel Driver and Support Assistant app I had installed earlier (but which hadn't been able to find any available downloads) popped up a message saying an update had been detected. I chose to get the update. The app downloaded and installed an archived driver set for the device. When I restarted, I got a popup asking if I wanted to overwrite the newer version of the drivers that was already installed. I figured what the heck, it wasn't working with the previous set of drivers, so why not try the older ones? Clicked yes, and the Intel support app appeared to install the drivers again, then prompted me to restart again. After restart, I opened Device Manager again. Same errors showing, same result when I hit F10 to open Project dialogue. Wondering if I should have clicked NO when asked if I wanted to overwrite newer drivers. Think maybe I'll try uninstalling again, run downloaded driver install file again, choose not to overwrite newer drivers, and see what happens. Thinking maybe that prompt may have been Windows wanting to install basic driver.

What I would do is make sure that you have the latest chipset drivers.

Then see if your BIOS is the latest version.

Otherwise, I would do a clean installation of Windows 10 v21H2
