That's awesome! Any chance that you could write a tutorial for unexperienced users?

Freaken sucks that we have to bios modify ourselves to get a notebook that works as intended without massive throttling.

Come on Lenovo, do you guys want us to hate you forever?

Second that.  If I knew about these problems I would never have bought the laptop.

Matters made worse by the fact that Lenovo are totally silent on this.  Absolutely no response from them on this thread or other similar ones.

Lenovo???

That's really awesome, can you explain the steps you did ?

I guess it's something simmilar to this to load the moded dsdt :

https://egpu.io/forums/pc-setup/fix-dsdt-override-to-correct-error-12/?mode=grid

Did you use registry load or with clover ?

Can we extract the original dsdt file with ada64 like this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dj4p2uB1Uds

And last thing, can you post a copy of dstd file ?

I'm going to receive my computer tomorow, (yeah, that stapm thing suck, but since they destock this computer for almost nothing now, it's still appear to me like a nice buy for 225€ -without tax-) If there is a way to fix this mess, it would be awesome.

Well, guys I can send archive here, and you just need to unzip it to usb flash drive and boot from it, and your STAPM will be 25W or 30W if you wish. Or I can make full guide if someone wanna try it by theirselves. But I need to ask u/MinecraftAddict131 if I can post it there, bcz first of all he discovered this method, and I don't want to take his fame.

Or maybe i can credit him (bcz he haven't been online for 2 days) when I will post files there. So what limit do you guys want ? 25W, 30W or both ?

Well, if you can do both (i mean, the file and how-to-do-it-ourself) , it would be great :)
Anyway, it's a really awesome news.

I'd be very happy about the file with 30w already, or better upload both, so we can test it.

Thank you and of course MinecraftAddict131 to unleash the power of our device!

Re: Ideapad 330 Ryzen 5 2500u underperforming

DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible for your hardware, laptop, etc. Everything you do here is on your own risk. This "patch" appliable ONLY for Lenovo 330-15ARR with Ryzen 5 2500U/Vega 8 and latest BIOS (haven't test it with other bioses).

This is a "easy" version of a guide, so u need to follow few steps to make this work.

First of all, thanks u/MinecraftAddict131 for pointing where we need to look for values.

1. Firstly you need to go to your bios and set Configuration>HotKey Mode to "Disabled"
2. (optional step) Download AMD uProf to track changes Link

3. Then you need USB flash drive (i prefer to format it before use)
4. Download 25W or 30W files
5. Unzip archive in to the root of your flash drive
6. Reboot or Shutdown your laptop
7. Boot from USB drive, and when you see the Cloever menu, just press Enter
8. When you will boot into Windows, just change brightnes up or down with Fn+F12,F11
9. (optional step) Check AMD uProf for STAPM values
10. Profit!

Known bugs: Everytime you need to boot from flashdrive, otherwise it won't work. But i'm currently looking into that problem.

P.S. You can change your brightness freely if you need to.

Edit: I can make 35W, 40W or even 45W patches if some wanna test it :smileyhappy:

Is there seriously no Lenovo employee replying to this thread? I bought my laptop 7 days ago,and can say I regret giving my other Dell laptop with an i5-8520U to my cousin. This CPU underperforms, especially paired with the cheap HDD you guys placed in this machine. Planning on returning it,if there's no fix for this. Not a hardcore gamer or anything, but having it struggle with the Office suite is simply pathetic. Come on Lenovo, you can do better.
