Ideapad 330 overheating

2018-12-20, 19:29 PM

Hi all,

Few days ago I bought lenovo ideapad 330 with i5 8300h and nvidia gtx 1050 4gb, 1tb hdd 5400rpm.

Problem with this notebook is overheating during gaming.

I tested it with call of duty advanced warfare 2014, doom 2016 and league of legends.

Average temperatures of cpu are about 65C but highest are about 86C , few times even 90C and than game(call of duty) shut down.

I played games in mid specifications, even lower than recommended by GeForce Experience.

In attachment  you can see temperatures after 40min of playing call of duty.

Temperatures during browsing on firefox are 40-45C.

Gpu temperatures are lower and there is no problem.

I think that I will return it to the seller but before that i would like to see some advices how to solve thi problem.

ps. I will try it with cooler but I think that cooler will not help much.

The only reasonable action in given circumstances. Lenovo is known for its crappy performance of same hardware compared to different vendors. Especially for consumer line products as ideapad.

Don't even bother with this forum. Lenovo support is absent in 90% of all really serious cases. Just look at long-paged topics.
The only suggestion would be to change thermal interface between cpu and heatsink (40% of success), but you might make things worse (in 20% of cases).
