Ideapad 330S won't turn on

2021-06-10, 12:32 PM

Hi. Worked fine for 3 years and went to power up and nothing.  I did check all power sources and still dead. Do these things have batteries?

Thanks so much,

June

Welcome to the Community Forums Junebuggerz,

Other than checking the power source, I might suggest trying to perform a power drain as well.

Initiate a static drain or power drain: make sure that the device is in powered-off state. Disconnect all cables and/or peripheral devices connected to the machine (ex. power cable, hdmi cable, external mouse/keyboard, flashdrives, etc). Press and hold down the power button for as long as 60 seconds to drain flea power or excess voltage. The machine is meant to remain turned off after holding power key. Turn on the machine with the charger connected and see how it goes.

You can also isolate the issue from either of two common issue:

It is a no power issue if the machine has no signs of power light and no obvious light response.

No post issue if the machine has power light indicator, try to tap on the capslock key for any light response. If no light response at all, this is a no post and the problem might be on the internal part of the machine.

Otherwise, to further isolate the issue, you may need to use a different charger to isolate if this is a no power indeed.

Else, it would be better to get in touch with the technical team for their recommendation.

Let us know once convenient.

Regards.
Dex
