Ideapad 5 14ARE05 Touchpad not working

2020-06-28, 11:02 AM

Hi,

just got my new 14ARE05 with FreeDOS. After trying to install a Windows 10 Pro x64 2004 the touchpad is not detected. Not during setup phase, nor later.

By looking in the Device manager it is just not there, not as unknown device, not unvisible, just nothing... Like it is disabled in Bios, etc.

By searching a little bit online, I came up to, that the touchpad is connect over SPI with the CPU and there might be a driver for that missing? Can somebody confirm this?

But there is no driver availible at the support page, so anybody can share a link to the AMD IO Driver for the 14ARE05?

Or does somebody else has a solution for this?

Thanks!

hi Mzoellner,Please install the serial-IO driver through Vantage/Official website first, and then check the touch function.

Here having random problems too with the touchpad on windows 10 2004, I installed a dual boot with ubuntu, in ubuntu no problem at all with the touchpad, so is windows drivers related.

nothing to look in lenovo vantage, it seems abandoned this new device.
