Ideapad 5 14ITL05 - updated out of the box, asks for bitlocker recovery key

This is a pretty bad user experience. Brand new machine, run Windows update which installs a new Lenovo firmware. Then on reboot, bitlocker says that secure boot has changed and it needs a bitlocker recovery key, which of course I don't have. 

 

So the machine is basically a brick. May be stored in the Microsoft account, but I don't have access to that online as setting it up for a client. Also if this was my only machine I would be screwed.

Windows won't enable Bitlocker unless it has someplace to put the key or has already done so. Here's the list of places to look. If you have notifications enabled in the Microsoft account used to set up the machine, you may have gotten an e-mail.

Yes it must be in the MS account, unfortunately I can’t get into that account at the moment due to 2FA but I’ll call the client tomorrow. Thanks
