Ideapad 530S-15IKB USB-C Display

2018-08-03, 21:57 PM

Hello,

I have an Ideapad 530s-15IKB with Windows 10 and am currently trying to hook up two external monitors so that I have a tri-monitor setup.

[ Monitor] ---- [ Ideapad ] ---- [ Monitor ]

(Both monitors are Dell S2318HN/S2318NX, for reference)

I can hook up one monitor just fine with the Ideapad's buit-in HDMI port, but I am having problems with the other monitor. I want to use the USB-C port to plug in a USB-C to VGA adapter, but the computer doesn't seem to like that, giving me an error saying "Display connection might be limited." Neither Windows nor Intel Graphics can detect the third monitor.

I want to know if there is any way (adapter or not) to use the USB-C port for display. If that is not an option, I would like to know any possible alternatives.

Thank you!

- Dustin

I am facing the very same issue. Bought a USBC hub and whilst LAN, USB3.0 ports operate as they should - I cannot get VGA to connect... Please advise.
