Keyboard issue

2020-04-20, 13:02 PM
The keys for the letters b, p and s on my laptop are not working. When press b I get a question mark in a square, when I press p nothing happens and when I press s I get an unwanted screen save. Is there a solution?

Welcome to the Community

It might help to know the model of laptop you're using. Have you tried an external keyboard?

My first thought was that a couple of keys are stuck, but the question-mark-in-a-box doesn't appear to be something that can be created with a keystroke combination. My second thought is that the keyboard's ribbon cable is loose or the keyboard, itself, is damaged. I guess that's two thoughts. :)

Hi,

I have much similar issue. Please note that my issues are happening back and forth.

See the details below:

S - S key works as ALT key ( i can see that during on-screen keyword when I press through laptop)

B - it works as a scroll lock key

K-K key works as a scroll lock key

space bar - No movement on the on-screen keyboard

Function key - Doesn't work properly

All of these I have tried and checked the movement on the on-screen keyboard

and everything mentioned above happens back and forth.  These keys start working sometimes and stop again without any proper pattern I could recognize.

Please please help. It is very much frustrating.

Hi!

Several letters on my keypad are not working. I have not been able to run any diagnostics because I am not able to open the computer. My password contains some of the keys not working. I have disabled sticky keys etc.

I have an Ideapad 330 typeC.

Thank you!
