Re:LENOVO Ideapad 330-15ARR 7WCN27WW bios issue

In my case, I was able to solve the issue by removing the connection to the Cmos battery and also the connection to the main battery. It's a bit tricky, you have to find the tutorial to see how to open the PC on the back and know which connector to remove. If you can manage, just leave the pc off for 30 min of so, after replugging the connectors and closing the back, just try again. For me, the Cmos was reset and I was able to save changes in the Bios from there.

PS : at first, I removed a connector that was not needed and I almost scratched the motherboard doing that. So one has to be careful doing that.

Re:LENOVO Ideapad 330-15ARR 7WCN27WW bios issue

Not sure if this is still an active thread, but my boyfriend de ided to updated a bunch of drivers yesterday because my video card was running in black and white ever since we factory reset, and now were simply getting the bsod. Ive gotten the System thread not handled, formset configuration device error, as well as formset configuration buffer too small; I've unplugged both the battery and CMOS and let them sit for an hour, it refuses to boot into safe mode in any way, and finally through the f12 key it pops up this little box that gives me the option between Windows Boot Manager, and ATA HDD something or other. Clicking on either of these options result in my laptop hesitating a moment, but ultimately it crashes right back to telling me theres an error and we'll restart for you.

I know very little about laptops other than how to boot in safe mode and factory reset, so the fact that i cant get to that option after following a bunch of tutorials is driving me insane. Is my laptop just fried?

The laptop is still broken, I havent found any way to fix the loop. Im assuming the same update has killed a second laptop I pulled out of storage to use temporarily. So its a Lenovo update causing the crash as both laptops were Lenovo, and the older one was still running on Windows 8.
