Lavie Z 360 Win 10 problem

2015-07-29, 16:41 PM

I just installed the Wi 10 update on my Lavie Z 360. It works well with one extremely annoying exception.

When in tablet mode, the touch pad is not disabled. This was not a problem in Win 8.1. Perhaps we need a driver or BIOS update. I hope this will be forthcoming as so far there have been no updates for this machine.

The official list of Lenovo devices supported for Windows 10 can be found here:

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103535

Unfortunately, I did not see the LaVie Z listed as a supported system. Information about downgrading to a prior version of Windows can be found here:https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103796.

Please note that downgrades must be performed within a month of upgrading to Windows 10.

Thank you,

So have you tested all other functions on the Lavie Z 360 with W10? I want to upgrade but Lenovo says the machine is not supported....

I have the same problem. I tried to install the old pad driver which is listed as download for Lavie Windows 8.1

It solved the problem but scrolling was not able afterwards, so installed back the win 10 driver. It seems to be an easy fix.

Any other driver issues? Please share with us.

I have been working with Lenovo's tech support. I belive the problem has been solved and a new driver should be available within a week or two through Windows Update.

In talking with Lenovo's tech support I was told that the LaVie systems definitely will be supported for Windows 10.

Thanks a lot for this wonderful news, so no need to play around with my drivers. Windows 10 is definitely much better, I like the whole new adjusted system. A perfect combination with the Lavie and switching to tablet mode through a button makes it easier for alternative modes like the tent or presentation mode.

Just to be clear, with the fix, the system works just as it did under Windows 8.1. That is, the keyboard and touch pad remain active until the system is fully rotated into tablet mode.

Selecting tablet mode in the Win 10 status panel while the system is not fully folded into tablet mode will not disable either the keyboard or the touch pad.

The problem is that Windows 10 automatically updates the touchpad to the ELAN driver, which does not have the disabling feature.  To desolve the issue, first uninstall the ELAN driver and go to Lenovo's support page for LaVie to download and install the NX PAD driver.

Have fun!
