Lenovo Flex 5-1570 laptop - the T, Y, Shift ,and Backspace keys not working

2020-02-12, 15:34 PM

For some reason , my T' Y, left Shift, and Backspace keys stopped working.  I did a search and it looks like this happened to several Lenovo laptop users.   What is the solution please?

Hello,

To test whether there is a software driver issue, install a USB Wired keyboard and check if all the keys on the USB keyboard work.

Most keyboards are connected to the computer with a replaceable socket on a flat cable.  Maybe there is a bad connection.  Click on "SUPPORT" above and enter your system serial number.  This will open a page with information for your exact system.  Warranty support and Warranty contact information details will be on that page.  IF you have active Warranty, contact Warranty support.

IF you don't have active warranty, keep reading below...

The system information page will have documents, User Guide, and System Hardware Maintenance Manual.  Review both of them for advice on keyboard maintenance and cleaning.  The Maintenance Manual will show the procedures to replace the keyboard.  Decide if you want to do this yourself or hire it done.  One simple check is to simply disconnect then reconnect the cable attaching the keyboard to the mother board.  Lenovo parts and part numbers are also available upon the system information page.  Select PARTS button.

Sincerely,

Usedtoberich
