I am wondering if I can upgrade my laptop's ram into 16gb at 3200mhz. Right now, I have 4gb of ram at 2400mhz. Is it possible to upgrade to 16gb or does it have to be maxed out by 8gb?.

Welcome to the forum.

You can go to 16GB of either 2133MHz (Intel 7th gen CPU) or 2400MHz (Intel 8th gen CPU) DDR4 SO-DIMM RAM. 

There is no benefit in getting faster RAM, e.g. 3200MHz since it won't run any faster on this system.
