Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15IIL05 - Insyde BIOS Update Malware?

2020-09-21, 22:45 PM

I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 recently, and decided to check for updates on Lenovo Vantage. I saw an update named "BIOS Update - 10 [64]" After installing it, it took me to a setup wizard, I don't remember what it was, but the Lenovo logo was on the left of the window. Afterwards, it took me to a suspicious screen by a company named "Insyde." The screen looked very old and sketchy, featuring a very pixelated cartoon picture of a computer, and overall, it looks really unprofessional. I just want to make sure it isn't a virus or malware.

This is the design. Insyde is one of the largest bios companionies in the world. And this is their style.
