Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 82EY002BUS Maximum Supported RAM

2021-05-12, 3:46 AM

Hi I recently purchased the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 82EY002BUS Laptop. It came installed with one 8GB RAM module. I want to add more RAM. What is the maximum allowed RAM? Is it 16GB or 32GB?. I am thinking of adding a 16GB module to the existing 8GB module to make it a total of 24GB. Can someone confirm if that would work? Thank you

According to the IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ARH05 Platform Specifications, it currently supports the following,

Memory Type:   DDR4-3200
Memory Slots:    Two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots, dual-channel capable
Max Memory[1]:   Up to 16GB DDR4-3200 offering

1.   The max memory is based on the test results with current Lenovo® memory offerings. The system may support more memory as the
technology develops.

Crucial Memory, which I have found is usually correct, states that it will accept 32GB of RAM, and I see some users online that confirm that as well

Note:   If you do decide to go with mismatched sizes (8GB +16GB), the memory will not run in "dual-channel" mode, so you will lose some memory performance as a result.
