Lenovo Ideapad 320-abr

2021-05-03, 20:58 PM

Recently, my computer had turned off and will not come back on. The power supply works and the fan is running but the screen is black.

I tried taking out the battery and ram, holding the power button, and using the novo button. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what I should do.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Asha556,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for posting on the boards. I might suggest that you need to isolate the matter into what kind of issue your machine is going into.

I could advise you to repeat the steps again by properly performing the power drain before you access the Novo button.

Perform a static discharge/power cycle
- Make sure there is still remaining battery power, able to power up the machine.
- Disconnect all cables and/or peripheral devices connected to the machine (ex. power cable, hdmi cable, external mouse/keyboard, flashdrives, etc).
- Ensure that device is powered/switched off.
- Press and hold down the power button for as long as 60 seconds to drain flea power or excess voltage.
- Find the Novo Button. How a Novo button should look like: https://support.lenovo.com/us/fr/solutions/ht062552

Then if you ran into the same empty screen. Start to isolate any of the issues

A machine is undergoing no power if it has no signs of power light at all.

The issue would be on no post if machine has power light indicator, try to tap the capslock key for any light response - if no light response, this is a no post and the problem might be on the internal part of the machine.

Finally, it is a no display issue if the capslock responded and has power light indicator, try to connect an external screen to check possible signs of display.
