Lenovo Ideapad 320s-15AST

2020-10-29, 18:20 PM

I upgraded my ram to 8gb 2400mhz DDR4. However, when I checked it in my task manager it says that my ram is now 8.0gb but the speed is still 1066mhz. How can I fix it?

Hi Yeloo,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking with the product specification sheet it shows that "System clocks down for processors with lower memory controller"

You can try running CPU Z to check how the new ram speed is performing and likewise update the BIOS if needed.

Do check back with the original ram and see its speed, if it can perform higher than the new one then it maybe an issue with the 8GB to report to the reseller.

I hope this helps answer your query.
