Lenovo Ideapad 320-15IKB facing issues

2020-09-08, 18:24 PM

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 320-15IKB and i am facing a lot of issues from a very long time, probably more than a year now.

The lenovo vantage(version 4.27.32.0) fails to do anything, It gives me error when trying to check for updates or trying to run a hardware scan.

A video paused on youtube/vlc randomly unpauses and starts playing. If a playlist is being watched on youtube, it suddenly starts skipping each video in the playlist until the playlist ends.

There are errors when trying to install windows updates.

I have attached the screenshots of the above mentioned errors below.

Hi,

Welcome to the Lenovo forum community!

So i see different issues here, that might be connected, and i would suggest doing a factory reset:

To do a factory reset, first you will need to make a backup of your important files to an external USB storage unit, or to an online drive.

Then you need to turn off your laptop completely, by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

To initiate the factory reset, you need to push the tiny button located (Go to pcsupport.lenovo.com search with your serial number, then select pane "Knowledgebase and Guides" Then find the user manual and locate the Novo buttons placement in the manual), You can use for example, a paperclip to press it, after

you have pressed the button, the laptop will power on, and present a small menu, use the arrow keys to select factory reset, and press the

enter key to select. Now follow the on screen instructions.

Then when back at the desktop:

  1. Right click the Start button and select Control Panel.
  2. Make your way to System and Security.
  3. Click System.
  4. Click Advanced system settings from the left sidebar.
  5. Select the Hardware tab.
  6. Press the Device Installation Settings button.
  7. Choose No, and then press the Save Changes button.

Go to pcsupport.lenovo.com search with your serial number, then select pane "Drivers and Software" and use the automatic driver update.

Reboot, then update windows. Now see if this solved the issues you mentioned above.

Tried to order recovery media before doing factory reset but i'm unable to sign in to Lenovo USB Creator tool. This has also happened before many times and I also mailed this issue to recovery@lenovo.com but did not get a reply.

well, alternate is to do the following:

Download the below application, and create a bootable installation media for Windows

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-10-create-installation-media

when installing, and you are asked for the serial key, press the text that says "I do not have a key" then let it continue to install, then update drivers,

and do a full windows update, then reboot, and your computer should be registered with the OEM key, since it is embedded into the computer

Then log into Microsoft store and look for Lenovo Vantage, then update drivers..

So I did a clean reinstall of windows 10, and the issues regarding windows update and Lenovo Vantage have been fixed but the video unpausing/skipping to next video in playlist issue still seems to be there. What should I do now?

Also, I performed a hardware scan from Lenovo Vantage, and it tells me that everything is ok.

I would also like to mention that I'm not facing any issues when my earphones are unplugged.
