Re:Lenovo ideapad 330 - Touchpad not working after windows 10 update

Hello users!

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 320S-15IKB and for some odd reason, my Touchpad just quit working. After your typical Windows 10 update, the whole thing just stopped working. I have no function from the Touchpad and have to carry around a USB mouse all the time with the laptop. I tried updating the drivers through Device Manager, did not work. I tried updating the drivers manually via Lenovo and that did not work. I tired to update the firmware of the computer through Lenovo Support, that did not work. In Device Manager, I only can see that the mouse is the ONLY usable device.  And no, my F6 button is not the issue because I have tried that time and time again with no success.

This computer has been excellent so far but I have never had anything like this happen to it. I need to get this working again and everything that people are saying works has not for me.

Any thoughts?

Hi Gstauf,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Going back to the Device Manager, try doing a driver rollback initially.

If this does not work then you can proceed with completely uninstalling the touchpad driver and restart.

Download and install the recommended driver from the support site and restart.

There are recent reported issue on last Windows update so you can check back the update history and take note of the date. Here you can decide previous update that may have caused this noting that it would have a close date when you started to have the issue.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

"I have the same issue.  Recent Windows 10 update and the scrolling feature stopped working.  I tried a few of the written recommendations, to no avail.  Reinstalling the Lenovo Touchpad driver did not work either.  On a whim I tried the following:

Open the Device Manager by typing "device manager" in the Settings search box and selecting from the menu.

Double click the "Mice and other pointing devices"

Then single click on "Synaptics pointing device" to highlight it

Select Action in the Menu line to get a drop down list.

Choose update driver and allow the software to update.

Once I did this, my touchpad scrolling feature reactivated."

This worked for me!

Thanks!!

I have similar problems with the mouse - touchpad and wireless.  I've download new drivers and updated the bios.  We re-installed windows so I do not have old drivers to role back to.  I sure hope that works.  Can you send? Even the guys at the shop are stumpped.  Thanks
