SSD Write Speed

2021-06-23, 20:48 PM

Hi,

I am using an Ideapad 5 with AMD 4500u. My write speed is VERY low. Why would this happen and how could I fix this? I am using the latest BIOS.

Thanks.

Good day.

Looking at the screen capture you included, your drive is very full at 90% (426 / 476 GB). I would guess that is a major reason you could see slower write speeds.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I have improved that but it still seems too slow. Am I wrong? Is this normal?

Best wishes,

Hi @Mmwtbb

If you have a new formatted and clean installed drive but still having the same speed of transmission, then it can likely be a buffer controller by the SATA controller.

This is maintained automatically and would work on the buffer it was set not unless there is any hardware failure on it as showed by a diagnostic test.

It has been 8 months since I started using the drive. It is the drive the laptop came with. I have run the diagnostic test it did not find any problems. I guess this is just a low-quality drive then. Thanks for your replies. Best wishes.
