Some keys don't work on Flex 5-1570

2020-09-15, 18:36 PM

Sometimes only some of the keys don't work at the same time: e, d, c, volume up, volume down.

I already tried to clean with compressed air.

Please help! Thanks in advance!

Hi sagyas,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You can try following the steps here:

https://support.lenovo.com/pe/en/solutions/ht103985

Checking the same keys using an external USB keyboard and comparing the result with onscreen keyboard and CMD  typing will help us identify probable issue.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

An external USB keyboard works just fine.

I checked with the Powershell and it doesn't there work as well.

So I think it might be a hardware issue.

Those steps are related to Windows, but most of the time I'm using Ubuntu and it happens there too.

Hi sagyas,

Greetings.

As mentioned, this does isolate the hardware with the keyboard.

External ones work but fails on the .

Onscreen keyboard does work ok too in physical internal key failure.

Replacing part is the way to fix it but you can use the external keyboard and onscreen at the moment.

OEM Service do replacement of the whole uppercover assembly with keyboard.

You can get the part number here.

Here is the manual for the steps and article guide for getting parts.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
