Some keys only sometimes work - Flex 5 1470

2020-11-28, 6:38 AM

I have a Flex 5-1470 and since a while some keys start 'acting'. Sometimes, rarely, they work fine, and sometimes they don't work.

They are all left, that is namely a, 1 and Esc

I wonder if that is just a contact issue or maybe software related?

The problem is almost certainly hardware - the keyboard itself

Did you try to update the keyboard driver?

Sounds like. I get the same problems outside Windows 10 when I am in the BIOS.

Question is if individual keys can be reworked/cleaned or the whole keyboard assembly needs to swap?

BTW, I have a similar issue with the touchpad right click, that also needs several attempts to work.

According to Windows 10 I use the latest drivers. The problem is sporadic, I believe it's mechanical.
