Substitute HDD with SDD in my 500-15ISK Laptop (ideapad) - Type 80NT

2020-09-26, 7:47 AM

Good morning,

yesterday I was checking hardware of the pc and I found that there's an error in my HDD.

I've searched infos about this issue on google but I didn't find a solution.

I have tried to attach the log with no results. Anyway these are the results of HDD test:

 Device Tests:

Targeted Read Test: Fail

Random Seek Test: Success

Funnel Seek Test: Success

Short Self Test: Success

Drive Self Test: Success

Smart Status Test: Success

just in case someone knows how to fix the problem.

Anyway is there someone knows if samsung MZ-76Q1T0 860 QVO SSD is compatible with my pc? ( it has this hdd: WDC WD10JPCX-24UE4T0 - 931.51 GBs)

The Targeted Read Test: Fail is a signal from your old HDD's built in SMART test that is is failing, so backup your data and look for another drive.

Any SATA 2.5" SSD will fit and work in your system, but most SSD's are only 7mm in thickness unlike your existing drive is a 9.5mm thick, so make sure the SSD you buy includes a spacer so our new SSD will fit properly.

I know that Crucial provides them with all their 2.5" SATA SSDs, but I am not sure that Samsung and other do.     The spacers are cheap, so just make sure you get one with what ever SSD you purchase if it is not already included.
