Temperature/Fan issue 15ARE05 Ideapad 5 AMD
My 15ARE05 with the newest E7CN25WW Bios Update runs the CPU very very hot when almost idling (hitting 100°C Tctl/Tdie). I know that the fan table was adressed in this Bios update but although officially specified by AMD up to 105° this undeniably shortens the lifespan of the system.
I bought the 4800U and I know that a CPU that scores almost 4000 points in Cinebench will not operate quietly. I am fine with that. If I wanted a machine that boils the internals by shutting down the fan and fails after two years I would´ve bought Apple.
I ask you to implement a fan curve that keeps the CPU at a reasonable temperature (<85°C) OR BETTER give us a BIOS setting or program that let´s us adjust the fan curve within safe boundaries. If that means that the fan is spinning constantly at a low speed I can live with that much better than the current situation: 2 minutes silence, 2 minutes loud fan noise, 2 minutes silence, and temps skyrocketing.
Especially the constant heating, cooling, heating, cooling kills lead free solder joints.
Please report this to your BIOS engineering deparment. Thank you.
