Touchpad Hotkey don't working on Ideapad S145 (and I can't access touchpad settings!)

2021-06-21, 15:11 PM

I can't disable my touchpad using the hotkey (F6 / Fn+F6), even after updating and installing the drivers. Moreover, I can't access the touchpad settings in the Windows menu, they don't show up on "mouse settings". Lenovo System Update is telling me that all the drivers are up to date.

Hey,

So I solved the problem by downloading the app ETDProperties from Windows Store. Now I can access touchpad settings in this app and enable/disable it using the proper hotkey (F6 or Fn+F6). But for some reason the touchpad icon does not appear anymore in the screen when I press the hotkey (before, I could see the icon but nothing happens, now I can't see the icon but the hotkey it's working lol).

Welcome to the Community Forums @flaulhabe

Thanks for sharing a query on the Community.

Have you tested other function keys if the F6 is the only one inoperable as of the moment? Have you tried connecting an external keyboard and testing the key if the same issue is present? Have you tried testing the on-screen keyboard for further isolating the issue?

Did this happen remarkably after a Windows update or a BIOS update?

Try to check if the current BIOS version of your machine is the same as the recommended BIOS version uploaded on the support site. Enter your machine serial number > Drivers and Software tab > Manual Update tab > compare the BIOS drivers version.

Here is how you can check for your machine's BIOS version.

Regards.
Dex

The hotkeys in general are working. When I press the "disable touchpad" hotkey, I can even see the touchpad icon in the screen, but nothing changes.

This problem is ocurring since the beggining, it's a new laptop, I've just bought it.

And I've just checked my BIOS version, it is matching with the drivers from Lenovo Support site.

Hi;

Does your touchpad work normally?  can it control the mouse moving?

Hey,

My touchpad works normally. I'm using an USB mouse and the touchpad and both are working.

I just can't disable the touchpad without deactivating the driver, which is a nuisance.

Hi:

Please download the automatic analysis tool from:
https://meta.zbox.filez.com/v/link/view/dcc1fff4150247fbafd077cce7bed11a

Run it and follow the guide to do.

a). Click the "next" button, it will check whether the hotkey driver named "lenovo utility" is installed on your laptop.

     If not, it will show the "download" button which you can press to guide you to download the lenovo utility.

     If yes, it will show the version of your lenovo utiltiy and state of running. And give me a screen shot about those information and email to me.

     Then do the next step;

b) Click the "Enable log" button. If any popup shows, please chose "yes".

     Then press your non-working hotkeys, and  clicking the "Open log" button to locate the log file named "_utility.Log".

     Then email the "_utility.Log" to liweiwei1@lenovo.com

I am looking forward your feedback.
