USB Port now working

Recently, my laptop came across some USB connection issues. For the verification, I did plug the keyboard into the given USB ports. But the USB port on the left side seems to be not working at all. When I plug it in, the system detects the keyboard, and after some while, it doesn't recognize it. When I plug in the other USB ports, it works just fine.
 
I made a service request for this issue in the past, and they told me that your motherboard needs to be replaced under warranty. Again, I am facing the same problem. 
 
What might cause this?

I might suggest that you share the complete machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK or 20UD000BUS) from the sticker usually located under the case. This would help find more details about your machine variant, while keeping the confidentiality of your serial number.

 

If you can't find any sticker under the device showing the machine type model / MTM, check this link as guide how to find it within Windows. Please do not include the machine serial number (S/N): https://support.lenovo.com/ph/en/videos/vid100751-how-to-locate-serial-number-and-machine-type-model-number-may-2020-update

 

I may advise to try these steps to troubleshoot the issue on your USB ports.

 

Perform static discharge

- Remove all cables attached to the device (power, hdmi, external mouse/keyboard, etc)

- Be sure device is switched off

- Press and hold down power button for 60 seconds

- Re-attach all cables

- Attach the ac adapter and let the unit charge for a couple of minutes before trying to power it on.

- Also try another power socket.

 

When done, try to have the chipset drivers updated from the support site. On the support page, use your machine serial number (S/N) to load the machine details and the drivers. Go to Drivers and Software tab, click on Manual Update tab, in the list of drivers find the chipset drivers. Restart the machine when the installation is complete.\

 

Test the ports again and preferrably use other USB storage devices if these will be detected.
