Upgrades to laptop

2021-02-20, 10:46 AM

I have a Lenovo 110-15ISK Laptop (Ideapad) - Type 80UD.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6100U CPU @ 2.30GHz, 2301 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

-What kind of SSD should I buy?

-How to install an 120GB SSD in there?

-How to put the Windows from current HDD to SSD so it boots fast?

-How much RAM can I put in my laptop?

-Should I add or replace the current RAM which is 4GB? Because I don't know how many RAM slots I have.

-What kind of SSD should I buy?

You can install any 2.5" SATA SSD up to 2TB in size.

-How to install an 120GB SSD in there?

See the ideapad 110-14ISK/ ideapad 110-15ISK Hardware Maintenance Manual.

-How to put the Windows from current HDD to SSD so it boots fast?

You will need an external USB enclosure to put the old HDD in. Then run clone software to copy. See e.g. How to Upgrade Your Laptop’s Hard Drive to an SSD

-How much RAM can I put in my laptop?

There is 4GB RAM soldered to the system board. It can't be replaced or upgraded. There is also a SO-DIMM socket that can accept up to 16GB in additional RAM according to Crucial IdeaPad 110-15ISK Compatible upgrades

-Should I add or replace the current RAM which is 4GB? Because I don't know how many RAM slots I have.

See above.

Incidentally, bookmark this page: 110-15ISK Laptop (ideapad) - Product Home.

It contains a wealth of information including manuals, drivers, parts lookup, etc. that you will find useful for keeping your system in top condition.
