When Lenovo will update BIOS for 330 series, current is very buggy

2020-02-05, 13:44 PM

Current BIOS is buggy, when pressing Alt, apps is crushing, also sometimes everything is freezing on 10 seconds.
Previous BIOS has the same bugs.

So, the question, is Lenovo developers never pressing Alt button?

Hi 1mrpaul1.

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Were there any Windows 10 update?
Have you installed a app before this happen?

The support website is still the best place to check for the latest certified BIOS version.

If this version is the same as the ones you currently have then best to just stay with it until Lenovo Vantage does offer it or if the read me txt file offers changes made specic to your concerns.

Regards.

Hi ,

Welcome to Community Forums!

Most computers are supported from 2-5 years, depending on the manufacturer and if it's a consumer/business product line. If you had no updates AT ALL for 18+ months, consider that the machine is no longer supported or has been withdrawn.

You can try the troubleshooting steps provided on this article regarding System Freezeshttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/troubleshoot/lpt000634

You can also  refer to this article on Tips on How to Improve PC Performancehttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/msh500101.

Hope this helps with your query.

Regards

Malvin_Lenovo

Hi

I have the october stable release of Windows 10.
And using latest drivers and bios for my model from here https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/300-series/330-15ikb-type-81de/81de/81de003dru/pf1g89xd/downloads/driver-list/

the current version of bios is 8TCN54WW
in the version 8TCN52WW alt button doesn't kill applications but the computer is working slowly with this bios.
In all versions, the system is still freezing when using photoshop + construct 2+ chrome. apps that intensively using RAM.

All symptoms of low RAM level but I have 12 Gb of RAM. also, the task manager never showed usage of ram on more than 70%.
I assume there is a memory leak somewhere, and when im pressing alt, system waiting for alt+tab switching the apps and trying to load other apps from the background that is killing current application.

Also, when freezing are happens, I'm getting this notification in the events console C:\Windows\System32\powercfg.exe (process ID:2912) reset policy scheme from {f7a2a802-5261-4087-86cf-5bf96db29e3a} to {f7a2a802-5261-4087-86cf-5bf96db29e3a}

Hi Malvin, sadly this troubleshooting steps cant resolve the problem.
By the way it is happen not only for me.
On the site 4PDA, for current model of the notebook, everybody with bios version 8TCN53WW or 8TCN54WW has the same problem, when alt killing aps or even making BSODs
