both webcam and microphone disable/not installed on flex 5

I just purchased a new Flex 5 14in 2-1 laptop and I was test zoom when I realized that neither the webcam nor the microphone work. The microphone appears to not pick up anything at all, which the webcam doesn't even seem to be installed in the device manager. When I show hidden devices, both microphone and camera are grayed out and in properties it says "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)" 

 

When I bring up the camera app, it gives me the error code "0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>

 

Is it possible that some internal wiring was incomplete causing the webcam and microphone to not be connected? Would I have to send this in for a repair/replacement?

hi Jamesunlae, Open the local camera app, when the light next to the camera is on, then it is not a line problem. But,according to your description, it is recommended that you check after sale,thanks!

Before you go to the after-sales inspection, please run vantage to upgrade the driver, this may be caused by the camera driver

I did run the vantage driver update, and it said no updates available, your system is up to date. When the camera app is opened, I get the NoCamerasAreAttached error and there is no light that comes on by the webcam.

I just tried submitting a ticket it says "request failed with status code 500" - I NEED TO SUBMIT A TICKET ABOUT SUBMITTING A TICKET??? This is the updated text for that ticket: I just purchased this Ideapad Flex 5-14ARE05 - Type 81X2 (S/N: R90Y64KE) and after testing Zoom and trying to "start video," it says Zoom is unable to detect a camera. When I try to open the Camera app, I get an error that says "0xA00F4244." Webcam switch is on, camera access is on in camera privacy settings, and the Camera app is definitely on the allowed list. There is no camera listed in device manager, even after installing camera drivers.

I should add that the built in microphone also does not work either. No sound is registered through the mic.

After poking around some more and rechecking for windows updates, it appears the camera is working again. However, the microphone is still not registering any sound. In device manager, it is also shown as "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)"

I have been able to determine that the issue is hardware related concerning at least the webcam. After getting it to work, I found that if I sometimes moved the screen, it would flicker and then go off again, and would disappear from device manager as if the webcam got disconnected.

Hi, I am having the same exact problems (error codes and all) and have been through the same steps with drivers etc.. to try to fix this thing my self. What did you end up having to do? Inquiring minds want to know!

I have the same issue here. The webcam disappeared from the list of device managers and got a <NoCamerasAreAttached> error message when starting the camera application.

How did you solve the issue ?
