display problem?

2021-03-27, 16:03 PM

IdeaPad 3-15ARE05 Laptop - Type 81W4

Whenever I try to run microsoft white board or inkodo (both microsoft store note taking apps), after a while of use the laptop screen freezes however the mouse can still move. If I leave it as is the mouse starts moving in a choppy manner. To fix this I press on the function key f10 which is used for changing the projection on the laptop. Everything resumes as normal after this. The laptop still accepts input when it is "frozen" however I can't see anything move other than the mouse. I have an external display to btw. Please tell me  if there is something else needed to diagnose. Sometimes I get a bsod error BSOD/STOP error 0x000000EA. The screen says thread stuck in driver if I rmbr correctly. I use an intuos s (CTL-4100) but it also happens if I try and use the mouse.

Hello average_user.,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thank you for posting in the Community boards.

I may suggest you to try updating the display drivers from the support site. Enter your machine serial number to load the accurate drivers, go to Drivers and Software tab, click on the Manual update and then find the display drivers to your unit.

Also, you may try to go boot into safe mode and check if the issue would be triggered. Let us know.

Lastly, please share your machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK) from the sticker as it would help us get details from your unit.

Update us when convenient.

Regards.
Dex_Lenovo

Hello average_user.,

Apologies for the late reply.

Are you still encountering the same error message BSOD/STOP error 0x000000EA even after fresh reinstall of Windows?

I might suggest try running a diagnostics to your machine to identify if there could be any kind of hardware failure that might be triggering the issue. You are free to let us know about the results and include it in your response.

Regards.
