hard drive not found on windows installation

Hello

 

laptop :

ideapad 3-15ITL6 Laptop - Type 82H8

I bought new laptop , with freedos ,  when I tried to install windows from usb , the installation couldn't found the harddrive , but when I installed ubuntu it was ok , so what am I missing ,please help

hello ! 

 

I managed to solve the problem by changing in the bios "intel vmd controller" to Disabled , then the "ACHI" set appeared

Thanks for sharing your query. If this is the case that the device cannot install Windows, it is that BIOS boot mode maybe on Legacy so harddrive should be reformatted to MBR if not converted.

I would have tried that but in your new bios I cant change the boot mode , my bios version is GGCN26WW The program "diskpart" cant detect my hard drive

Hi @ohada 

 

You can create an MBR partitioned installer and use it to install and format the drive to the same format partition instead and then see if this one works for you.


Some do this with Rufus to create such installer with the ISO image of Win10.

I tried all that ,  please guide me how to see the legacy tab on the bios ?  there is a way to see it ?  maybe old version of the bios ??

 

attached  image is your simulation of the boot tab on bios ,  on my version (ggcn26ww) I cant see it
