330s 15IKB Touchpad not working

2018-10-05, 22:24 PM

Dear community,

I am just setting up my newly bought 330s and the Touchpad is not functioning. I have tried all F6 buttons, activated the touchpad under the Lenovo Vantage menu, the Device Manager in Windows I have also checked, ... As far as I can see a standard windows driver is installed for the touchpad. The Lenovo Support site does not show any Touchpad drivers for the 330s model at all. Can you help me please finding the right solution here?

Kind Regards

Hi IdeapadDummy,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Please check if you have a software called Lenovo Vantage installed on your laptop. If yes, try to open and then run System Update to  check if there's any driver update or firmware update for your laptop.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Hi there, I have executed the system update under Vantage and I am getting the result that all drivers are up to date. This seems not to be the issue. Best Regards

Hi IdeapadDummy,

Another support to further assist you.Could you try to uninstall the Touchpad driver from the Device Manager? Then, restart the laptop. When you turn the laptop back on, could you set the BIOS to its default setting? Here's how you can access the BIOS:https://datacentersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht500216

To set the BIOS to its default settting press, Fn+F9 or F9 (Setup Defaults) then, Fn+F10 or F10 (Save and Exit). Once done, try to test and see if still doing the same thing. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Re: 330s 15IKB Touchpad not working

Hi there,

in the 330s there is no Touchpad driver installed that could be uninstalled. So I removed the touchpad device in the device manager altogether and rebooted. Windows then started installing an update (not sure whether this was triggered by the uninstall of the device). Then the Touchpad started working, however with strange behavior and uncontrolled. I went back to the device manager and found an exclamation mark at the device. I then activated the device again. Now it works! Thank you anyway. The trick with the BIOS I didn't have to do.

Best Regards

I had the same problem and fixed it!  Went to device manager and then keyboards.  There was a duplicate keyboard with an error icon. I uninstalled that keyboard, restarted the laptop and Wah-Lah!

reboot means restart. The process of starting/initializing a computer was historically referred to as "booting" it (the boot up process)
