Hello. Certain apps like Winamp & VLC appear in a very small size on my screen. Any idea on how to scale them? I don't want to use the settings option under display because not all apps give me this issue, but only certain ones. Have tried the registry hack method, but it didn't work.
Would appreciate any help.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Some older applications are not yet updated to high DPI aware so checking with the application developer for newer version would help. Similar to this discussion , changing display resolution remedies the font a bit but it does affect other DPI aware applications.
Here is a Microsoft article that suggest other steps to try specially if checking "Override high DPI scaling behavior" did not help. To do this, right click on the application shortcut and choose Properties then Compatibility tab. You can choose the drop down option when you place a check on Override high DPI scaling behavior then ok.
Other than the options provided above, contacting the developer for the older apps for newer version should be the next move.
I hope this helps answer your query.

Thank you for replying.
I tried your suggestion, using all three options of application, system and system (enhanced) in the drop down box. None of them worked. Oh well...have to contact the developer, I suppose. Thank you anyway.

Given all the methods you have tried from the steps provided, old apps really need DPI aware updates for newer interface we have nowadays as the linked articles suggested.
