When running Windows 10 Update on a 6 month old Flex 4-1580, a Lenovo Firmware update momentarily appears in the list of updates, but then disappears. When I run Lenovo Update, there is a BIOS update available. When I run that, I get a message: "This BIOS is only for Lenovo IdeaPad, 510S14IKB 310S15IKB, YOGA 510-141IKB 510-15IKB. Do you want to continue?" If I look on Lenovo Support for my system, there is a BIOS update for the Flex 4-1580 indicating a security fix. This is very confusing. What am I to believe? Is the BIOS update available via Lenovo Update valid or should I do a direct download from Lenovo support?

Levovo System Update utilities say that this BIOS update is available for my system:
"Flash BIOS update - Flash from Operating System version for ideapad 510S-14IKB, 310S-14IKB, 310S-15IKB, Yoga 510-14IKB, Yoga 510-15IKB, Flex 4-1480, Flex 4-1580 Version 2SCN25WW(V2.05)"
Yet when I say yes to install it, it seems to say that it is not for my system : "This BIOS is only for Lenovo ideapad 5105141KB 3105151KB YOGA 510-14IKB YOGA 510-15IKB. Are you sure you want to update this BIOS on this machine?"
I reply no.
I am at 2.04. should I install the 2.05?

Sorry to hear of the difficulties you are experiencing. The warning message you are receiving during the update is partially correct. Your model should have been included in that warning since that BIOS update covers all the models listed. Here is a full description from the BIOS update's README file....
Flash BIOS update - Flash from Operating System version for ideapad 510S-14IKB, 310S-14IKB, 310S-15IKB, Yoga 510-14IKB, Yoga 510-15IKB, Flex 4-1480, Flex 4-1580
Applicable OS Win10
I would try the upgrade again and click to proceed.

I downloaded and installed v2.06 which was recently released. It is still giving this false message. When will this be fixed to reflect that these BIOS updates also apply to the FLEX 4 1580? It is really confusing.

Johnpd, I wouldn't call the message false. An incomplete description would be a more accurate. Glad to hear the update went well.
