How can I tell if this update is for my laptop? A message popped up saying I have a critical update and then this message says it is only for these models.
Is it safe to say if I get this message then my laptop is one of these models? I can't find specifics within my computer to show if I have these models. I know I have a ideapad flex 4, but beyond that I don't know.

browsing Amazon I believe this is my laptop
Lenovo Flex 4 - 2-in-1 Laptop/Tablet 15.6" Full HD Touchscreen Display (Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, Windows 10) 80SB0004US
Still, no idea on if this bios update applies

Click the start button, windows admin tools, system information. 7 lines down is your model number and below that is current BIOS name.
State your model number and current BIOS installed.
The readme.txt shows Flex 4-1470, Flex 4-1570 plus ideapads
You have to scroll to the right to see your machine.

BIOS link above is your machine. You will go from level 18 to level 22.

I have the same exact message when I check for updates but my Lenovo model is the Flex 4 1580. The BIOS name is 2SCN14WW (v.1.04) 7/25/2016. When I clicked on more details on the BIOS UPDATE 10 (v.2.00) it says ( I copied and pasted this:Flash BIOS update - Flash from Operating System version for Lenovo ideapad 510S14IKB&310S15IKB and YOGA 510-14IKB&YOGA 510-15IKB
So is this safe to update to?? I assume it's going from level 14 to level 20 based on your reply to the other poster.

Was there a solution to this? I've been ignoring this update for some time now because I do not own the models listed. Mine is also a Flex 4. Has anyone performed this BIOS upgrade?

I'm having the same issue with my Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1580 and still can't find the answer of whether it's safe or not to update the BIOS with the recommended one (shown as "BIOS Update - 10 ") that is shown as a recommended update in the Lenovo Companion. The alert message states:
"This BIOS is only for Lenovo ideapad 510S14IKB 310S15IKB YOGA 510-14IKB YOGA 510-151IKB. Are you sure you want to update this BIOS on this machine?"
Obviously, I am NOT sure which is why I'm here searching for the correct answer.
My machine info:
- Model: 80VE
- BIOS Version/Date: LENOVO 2SCN14WW(V1.04), 7/25/2016

So, if you go to the drivers section of the lenovo site for flex 4 1570 you can see that it appears it shares the same bios with the 510s http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/FLEX-SERIES/FLEX-4-1570/downloads/DS...
I am going to download it directly from the website rather than through the tool which shows the warning message.
