Boot Menu on startup (Lenovo Ideapad 700)

Used my laptop for 10 months. Recently, this boot menu window always showed up whenever I'm switching on my laptop. When I pressed ESC or ENTER, nothing happens and it will keep going into the same window for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, only the system will start as usual. Anyone knows what is the problem? And how to disable the boot menu from appearing during startup?

Re: Boot Menu on startup (Lenovo Ideapad 700)

Hi there, YakuZoi                   -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Boot Menu on startup (Lenovo Ideapad 700)

Hi Shashi, thanks for replying.

Can I know how to flush out all static? I'm a little unclear about this.

The laptop's battery is built-in. So how can I remove it? Should I open the back of my laptop?

When I hold the power button, the boot menu screen went off and I need to press again the power button. Sometimes, when I press it again, the boot menu will come up again and sometimes windows will start as usual. If the boot menu came up again, I have to wait 5-10 minutes before windows will start as normal.

However, will it affect my battery/laptop performance if I keep forcing the laptop to shutdown from the boot menu? In other words, is it fine if I keep doing it because I'm afraid I might be tampering with my laptop's life expectancy by constantly forcing it to shutdown from the boot menu and restart it again.

Hope to find the solution real soon. Have a nice day, cheers Smiley Happy

Re: Boot Menu on startup (Lenovo Ideapad 700)

Probably this was due to the NOVO button (small button near to the power button) was clicked accidentally. Did you check the NOVO button

Also, Power drain is a process of removing the excess static stored in laptop.

Update us how it goes.

I did the same but there is no response. Same thing happening all over again. I flushed the battery and did it.
