Brand new 130-14IKB Laptop (ideapad) extremely slow and unresponsive

I recently bought Lenovo Ideapad 130 Core i5 8th Gen - (4 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home) 130-14IKB Laptop  (14 inch, Black, 2 kg) from Flipkart. The laptop is extremely slow now after a month's use. There is not anything saved o HDD yet.

What could be issue and how to speed up the laptop?

Please advise.

Thanks,
Aniket

Hi Aniket-K! Welcome to our forums community. Was there any changes made or any updates installed before the issue arise? Have you tried resetting to factory defaults? Before proceeding, kindly backup your files.

Kindly run the hardware test from the Lenovo Vantage app to check if there are hardware failure on the laptop. If the app is missing you can get it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/lenovo-vantage/9wzdncrfj4mv?activetab=pivotSmiley Surprisedverviewtab.

Check if there are Windows updates running in the background by going to Windows Start, Settings, Updates & Security. If there are available updates, make sure to install it. If same issue. do a clean boot to check if there are programs or software causing the lag. Steps here, https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows.
