I am planning to buy a Ideapad 330S-14IKB with the following configuration.
i5 8th gen
1 TB HDD
I just want to know if it's possible to upgrade the 1TB HDD with a 250GB SATA-3 SSD (like samsung evo). I do not want to use the M.2 slot given on the motherboard. Just want to upgrade the slower HDD with a SATA-3 SSD.
Also can someone share we the upgrade manual for this particular model.
Thanks for help.

Yes, you can upgrade the current SATA 2.5" x 7mm HDD with a SATA 2.5 x 7mm SSD, but just make sure that SSD you buy is 7mm in height (thickness) so it will fit properly in the case (most are).
FYI While you do not need to remove the battery entirely from the laptop to change the HDD to a SSD, you should still disconnect it from the system board as a precaution to eliminate any voltage that could cause a short circuit.
