Edge 2-1580 Mouse Moving/Wandering

I recently purchased an Edge 2-1580 and today I started encountering a very annoying issue.  When using my trackpad, my cursor will move itself about an inch diagnal from where I want it.  It doesn't move when I'm typing or anything but when I'm trying to move it to a scroll bar, it'll jump around away from the scroll bar, and its VERY annoying.  I tried "resetting" Windows and it had no change.  I have no idea what to do but its making using the computer extremely annoying.  I can't think of anything that would have set this off, as I made no changes when it started happening. Has anybody experienced this or have any clues how to fix it?

Re: Edge 2-1580 Mouse Moving/Wandering

Hi there, Muhlisa         -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

There are reports in this thread about erratic cursor movement after upgrading to Windows 10.

You can also start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Things that you can try:

  1. If you have a Synaptic Touchpad, press the Windows key‌ +X and choose Programs and Features. On the list of apps, uninstall the Synaptic Touchpad driver then reboot.
  2. After the machine restarts, test if you can use the Touchpad by using a generic Microsoft driver. If this works, try to update the Touchpad driver from the Lenovo site (1st), Windows Update (2nd) or from the Synaptic website(3rd) and observe.

Sample driver:

Synaptic Touchpad driver for Windows 10 64bit

Re: Edge 2-1580 Mouse Moving/Wandering

Thank you for the reply. I did what you asked, even though my program wasn't called Synaptic Touchpad, it was called Alps Touchpad or something. After the uninstall and the restart, my trackpad works, albeit its not sensative but it doesn't wander or jump an inch from where I place it like it was doing. Upon reinstalling the drivers, the problem immediately came back. I tried drivers from all three locations. So, I'm lost as to what to do next?
