I've had the laptop since new, lenovo fixed the mb for a video problem about a year after new, it has been working fine since. But in last month now the fan runs at 100% all the time - it NEVER SPINS DOWN. I've ran all the firmware and driver updates. reloaded defaults in bios. running newest windows 10.
Speedfan utility doesn't report fan speed but says acpi temps are around 30 degrees celcius, with cores arend 12 degrees celcius. CPU utilization is less than 10%. see attached screen shot. there is no reason for the fan to be running...
This is really annoying as it makes a great laptop almost useless. I've taken bottom off, blown out any dust (it was very clean, made sure screws around fan was not loose.
I've heard of people doing some battery removal or something to reset a sensor? Is that true? what are the steps.?
Lenovo utilities report 100% health (besides missing serial & model in bios - the Lenovo tech apparently didn't transfer over them when they did their repairs).
Open to ideas & help.
