Flex 3 - Display Problem

It goes black and have to restart the computer. LENOVO FLEX 3. Sleep mode is set to NEVER and still having the problem. Brand new laptop with many problems. Had to change for new one before, very dissapointed.

Hi there, JM -

 

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

 

Open the Start screen.

Type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter to start Device Manager.

Double-click on Display Adapters to expand the Display Adapters category.

Right-click on the specific AMD Radeon HD device and choose Uninstall from the menu.

At the Confirm Device Uninstal prompt, check the box Delete the driver software for this device and then click on OK.

 

Restart the PC.

 

The PC will now boot to Windows normally.

Enter your user name and password as prompted to log into your PC.

Make sure your internet connection is working and then run Windows Update.  Choose to install all available updates.

 

The PC should now be functioning normally.

 

Update us how it goes.

In response to customer reports of displays or screens turning off on Lenovo systems while in use and running on battery power, Lenovo has released a solution via update to the Intel Management Engine Firmware, v.11.0.0.1176.

 

The Intel ME Firmware has been approved for the following models:

  • ideapad 300S-14ISK, ideapad 500S-14ISK
  • Lenovo Edge 2-1580
  • Lenovo Flex 3-1480, Flex 3-1580,
  • Yoga 500-14ISK, Yoga 500-15ISK

 

The Intel ME Firmware can be downloaded here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds105001

 

If the solution provided by Lenovo does not resolve the issue for you, other customers report that a workaround provided by customer MattDN93 also resolves the issue. In my case, the computer use the following,
Intel )R} HD Graphics 520.
I did it anyway and worked fine for a wild, but yesterday and today start with the problem again.

I'm gone a try it. In my case its happen on battery or plugged to charger, there's no difference.

I have done everything on this.  Updated Bios, the latest intel interface driver etc.  I sent my laptop to Lenovo and have gotten it back.

 

Still have this problem.  Screen just goes blank at any given time.

I would suggest you visit the nearest Lenovo service centres for assistance. Schedule a Call-back for faster support.

Nothing works on mine. It doesnt matter if is running on battery or plugged to power. I have no other option that bring the computer to someplace to fix it. Its ridiculous to have to do this with a brand new laptop. Its supposed to be working just perfect, but actualy its tottaly otherwise. Having problems since day one, wireless connection, sound hardware and now the umpredictable black display... What a waist of time and money ($600)....

No more LENOVO for me.... totally disappointed.

Flex 3 randomly goes into sleep mode on power and battery. Does not wake up, has to be powered off. Have tried installing new BIOS but did not solve problem.

I also have a Flex 3 where the screen goes blank randomly. Defective product!! Worked with Support and restored the OS - No help still goes blank. Updated the Intel HD 520 graphics - still not a solution. I tried to run the Intel System Manamgemnt and I get a fatal error during the running and installation. Now what?!?!? Only 30 days left on teh warranty and the thing is unreliable.
