Flex 4-1470 Laptop USB Ports

Hello,

I am attempting to connect my Leap Motion to this laptop. However, it seems like the USB ports are not producing enough power as the Leap Motion keeps telling me to reconnect every so often. I have tried it with a total of 3 other different laptops and the Leap Motion runs normal. Any suggestions? Is there a way to check exactly how much power my ports are passing throuhg? Or Has this happened to someone? The leap motion requires usb 2.0 ports +..  I am confused as why this laptop is having issues. Anything helps.

Thank you,

Abi

Hi Abi

Thanks for posting.

The Flex 4-1470 has 2 USB 3.0 slots and 1 USB 2.0 slot, are you sure you're connecting the Leap Motion into the USB 2.0 slot? Also, whilst using Leap Motion, are you using the other 2 USB slots? If so, this could reduce the output of power to Leap Motion.

Regards

Re: Flex 4-1470 Laptop USB Ports

I am sure I am connecting it to the 2.0 slot, however the 3.0 should be able to produce enough power. The leap motion tends to flicker and it works for a few seconds then asks to be reconnected. I have used the leap motion with a mac laptop and my own desktop and it works flawlessy. My last resort is to buy a usb hub and try and see if it will work with my laptop. However, I would prefer not to do that :/

Re: Flex 4-1470 Laptop USB Ports

I have a slightly different issue which may or may not be related.

When I plug my Nook in to either of the USB 3.0 ports it works fine. But if I plug it in to the USB 2.0 port it is not recognized. Any ideas?
