Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

Hi! Try to complete uninstall the Finger Print Driver under device Manager. When deleting the driver Check Uninstall Existing drivers. After uninstalling the driver restart the laptop then install then 1470 driver update. Once installed, verify if the if the Fingerprint is working.
If yes, we need to check if we can disable the auto update driver for your Fingerprint.
1. Go to Device Manager.
2. Look for the Finger Print Driver. Right Click on the Fingerprint Driver.
3. Properties
4. Hardware Tab
5. Click on Device Installation Settings.
6. Choose "No, Let me choose what to do" then "Never Install driver software from Windows Update".
7. Click on Save Changes.

Let us know if this works. Reggie_Lenovo

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

Thanks Reggie...

Although, there is no hardaware tab under the propoerties of the fingerprint device, so I cannot see any device installation settings as you mentioned...

All I can do is to disable the general device automatic update process, but the option is not available only for the individual device..

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

Hi adomisi,

Thanks for getting back to us.

I see. Could send us the current version of the finger driver installed on the Device so we can take a closer look? Also, send us a photo of the driver from the device manager. Right click on Properties, then, under the driver tab takes a photo. We'll wait for your response.

Regards!

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

I can attach a printscreen image of the driver details...the language is in Greek, although you can see the required details of the driver version...

At this state the fingerprint device is fully functional...

I have to state that I totally disabled the general  automatic driver update of the system devices and also disabled the power save option of the fingerprint device...

Regards!

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

Thank for sending those details. We can see you the most updated fingerprint driver. We'd like to verify, if it's working now after Reggie provided some steps?

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

At the moment tha device is functional.

Although suddenly after a few hours it shows a code 10 error and need the reinstallation process as stated.

As I mentioned earlier, I disabled the general automatic update feature as well as the power option of the device...

Let's see if it will keep work with those mods...

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

I see. You may also try these steps when the fingerprint is working.

1.Right click the Start button and select Control Panel.
2.Make your way to System and Security.
3.Click System.
4. Click Advanced system settings from the left sidebar.
5. Select the Hardware tab
6. Press the Device Installation Settings button.
7. Choose No, and then press the Save Changes button.

Have a nice day!

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

As I mentioned above, the steps that you describe have been done as a lock for the general drivers automatic update process. Is there any way to disable thiw option only at the fingerprint device and not the whole amount of system devices ?

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

Once the fingerprint driver starts showing The device can’t start (Code 10) error, try the following:

  1. Boot into the BIOS then press F9 to reload setup defaults, then press F10 to save and exit.
  2. Once the computer is restarted, manually install the Fingerprint driver by navigating to Device Manager > Biometric Devices > Synaptics WBDI (right click > choose Update Driver Software > Browse driver software on your computer > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > click Have Disk, then point it to the C:\drivers\FingerPrinter\Source\synaWudfBioLenovoLBG.inf file then click Next to install the driver. See attached image for reference.
  3.   Once the driver is installed, try the Fingerprint functionality then observe.

Regards,

Re: Flex 5: Fingerprint sensor not working

Is there any particular reason to reset the bios to the default values?

What that could achieve?
