I recently ordered a Flex 3 15.6" 2 in 1. The model is 80k40007us. I will be getting it on Monday. Is it possible to replace the drive with an ssd drive? If so, what size does it need to be , 2.5" or something else? I would also like to upgrade the RAM from 8gb to 16gb. Can this be done or is the RAM permanently attached to the motherboard as it is with some other laptops?

Hi ElAguila64 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
It is possible to use SSD storage Ideapad 500-15ACZ Laptop (ideapad) - Machine Type 80K4 (MTM80K40007US) using similar caddy similar to this working with 2.5" up to 9.5mm (9.5mm/7mm or less) height SATA .
Based on the harware specification :
DDR3L-1333 MHz / 1600 MHz SODIMM × 2 (max 16 GB)
All needed is to add similar spec RAM as what is on it for compatibility or from FRU list (item 11 page 95) with
both 2 slots changeable for upgrades or swapping.
Hope this help answer your query.
Regards

One other question about the RAM. Is it 204 pin or 240 pin?
